Chris is an experienced solicitor with over 12 years post qualification experience in administrative law, personal injury law, and dispute resolution.
As Special Counsel at Gerard Malouf & Partners, Chris provides legal services to injured workers and manages sensitive and complex workers compensation, work injury damages, and common law claims against some of Australia’s leading business organisations, employers, and insurers.
Chris is an experienced litigator and has represented the interests of injured workers and persons injured in motor vehicle accidents or as a result of the tortious conduct of another party. He has also represented the interests of injured workers and employers in the Personal Injury Commission; the Workers Compensation Commission; NCAT; NSW District Court; NSW Supreme Court; and High Court of Australia.
Prior to re-joining GMP in 2021, Chris worked as a lawyer for Sparke Helmore, DLA Piper and HWL Ebsworth.
Chris also worked as a Principal Lawyer for Insurance and Care NSW. In that role he was appointed Workers Compensation Panel Manager for the NSW Government’s Treasury Managed Fund Scheme (the TMF). As panel manager, he oversaw complex claims and significant litigation involving the 193 NSW government agencies participating in the TMF scheme (including, the NSW Police Force; the Department of Education; Fire and Rescue NSW; Corrective Services NSW; and Health NSW). These roles have provided him with unique insights into the way claims are managed by insurers, employers, and other business organisations, and what it takes to ensure injured persons maximise their entitlements.
In April 2017, Chris was appointed as a DRS Claims Assessor under the Motor Accident Injuries Act 2017.
Before becoming a qualified solicitor, Chris worked as a Senior Business Analyst with some of the World’s leading wagering and gaming companies, including Tab Limited, Tabcorp, UniTAB and the Tatts Group.
Outside of work Chris enjoys snowboarding and supporting the mighty Western Sydney Wanderers!
