Shirley is a Senior Associate at GMP Law with over five years of experience in personal injury law. She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of New South Wales (2019), a Bachelor of Law, and a Bachelor of Finance, and is admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales. She speaks English, Mandarin, and Korean.
Shirley specialises in motor vehicle injury, workers’ compensation, and work injury damages at GMP Law. She also brings experience in public liability and medical negligence claims, gained during her previous roles at plaintiff law firms.

One of Shirley’s most memorable cases occurred early in her career when she assisted a retired professor who suffered serious physical and psychological injuries in a pedestrian-vehicle accident. The client, once planning a career in the arts, was left incapacitated and required extensive treatment over the years. The case was complicated by the client’s pre-existing conditions and required navigating various legal issues through the Personal Injury Commission. Throughout the process, the client struggled with stress, hopelessness, and even suicidal thoughts. This case not only helped Shirley develop her litigation skills but also deepened her understanding of the importance of empathy, rapport-building, and effective communication with clients during their most difficult times.
