Our client underwent an L4/5 posterior lumbar fusion and rhizolysis, also known as RF (radiofrequency) lesioning at hospital.
Following the fusion, our client developed surgical complications by way of necrotizing infection.
Our client underwent further surgery by way of debridement which revealed a large hole in her back. It took over a year for the wound to heal. Our client remained in hospital for a long period of time where she received rehabilitation for her injuries.
Our client currently has significant numbness in the left foot and mild dorsiflexion weakness on the left. Our client requires a frame or crutches to help her walk.
As a result of her injuries and experience in the hospital, our client has suffered from psychological sequelae. Our client has also required, and will continue to require, significant domestic care and assistance.
